League of Legends! You guys have to try it!

So lately my free time has been eaten up by this game title, which if you ask me is rather fun and enjoyable. The thing about this game is that it doesnt really fall into a definite gaming category much like RTW and AoM would fall under RTS, or say WoW or Anarchy Online would fall under RPG. Personally i see it as a mix of both, having RTS gameplay in the fact that one has to destroy the enemies, minions and their base (much like a sudden death titans game where once ur TC gets destroyed, u lose the game) and maintaining RPG elements in pregame options and setup (like buying items that will make your spells more powerful or that grant more HP).

Anyway, its a 3v3 or 5v5 game depending on how many players are present. The reason i think you guys should try it is becuz in each game u get to select a hero or champion that will fight alongside 4 other allied champions against the other 5 enemy champions. The funny thing about champion selection is that each champ is unique and his its own set of spells. Also, theyre design gives a unique feel to each of them.

I am curious as to which champions you guys would get. I am almost positively sure about Vandhaals selection. A true macho norse viking...

Sorry, Alb, it's too much stylized for me...
can't hack that stuff. Avoid Clone Wars TV series for that reason alone, not just the horrid storylines...

But anyways, the gameplay is based on DoTA, which is not my cup of tea. To me it combines RTS with RPG but retains the boring elements of both while possessing the fun elements of neither.

Means the artwork follows a specific style, the same way you know a frikkin Picasso when you see it.

Well the first few games i had thats also what i thought. It seemed to be like an rts but with a completely new playstyle to me. Also throw in consistent and continual rapage and i wasnt planning to keep playing. However, once i got the hang of it i found that the fun factor is there. It also has a lot more strategy than meets the eye, basically because of the mix of rpg and rts, since u not only have to build and buy your items accordingly to what the enemy team is buying during the actual game, but u also have a pregame setup that can influence the outcome of the match by buying runes and learning certain masteries to power up your character.

Anyway the game runs on a client, which means that once youve downloaded it, it will have to update frecuently although it does this on its own. It also doesnt take up much space.

I personally havent played DoTA, i just know of its existence as precursor to this game. But from what i have heard from people who did play DoTA, LoL is way more improved and a lot more fun. So im guessing its not at all similar. I think you should try it, nonetheless and then uninstall it if u feel its not so intelectually stimulating. Very Happy
